In May of 2012, The Arthritis Foundation recognized Brigid's efforts to spread awareness and made her an Ambassador for the Greater Hartford Walk to Cure Arthritis. She has served on the walk committee for several years. In January 2014, she was asked to join The Arthritis Foundation Leadership Board and resigned in 2018 due to health problems.

Brigid's family and friends have been more than supportive in these 12 years. They have stepped forward to help when needed as well as giving up time with her so she could help others with the same struggles. Brigid enjoys contributing what she can to society.

Brigid's mission is to raise awareness and understanding of the general public and those suffering from from chronic illnesses by telling her story and sharing what she has learned in school.

Brigid Laurito resides in the United States with her 16 year old daughter. Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis 12 years ago at the age of 33 she has become an advocate for the Arthritis Community.

Brigid is a Nationally Licenced Massage Therapist, certified in Reiki II, and a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician. As her Arthritis worsened, and the doctor appointments increased, it was more difficult to work. Still wanting to be a contributing member of society she created her award winning blog entitled My Rheumatoid Arthritis Journey. This outlet has connected her with people around the world with the same struggles and triumphs. She has also managed several online forums where many find daily support.
